Vestal Eye Care Associates was established over 50 years ago as the first eye care practice in Vestal. It is our mission to protect your eye health and enhance your vision in a friendly and efficient manner using the best technology available.
Our caring, attentive staff caters to patients of all ages. We offer InfantSEE exams to baby’s at no charge during their first year of life. We treat eye infections, eye emergencies, and co-manage surgical procedures. Both of our optometrists are certified to detect and treat glaucoma.

Ronald A. Meeker, O.D., F.A.A.O.

We make it a point to hear any questions or concerns each patient may have. This way, we can best personalize their care in the manner that's precisely right for them."
Dr. Meeker has been in practice in his home town of Vestal since 1985. He is a graduate of Vestal High School, Colgate University and the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an organization dedicated to excellence in optometric practice and requiring examinations for fellowship. Dr. Meeker is certified to treat ocular disease to the fullest extent allowed optometrists in New York State.
His special interests include: Pre- & Post-op Cataract, Glaucoma & Refractive Surgery Care; Diagnosis & Treatment of Glaucoma, Eye Infections, Eye Allergies & Dry Eyes; Corneal Refractive Therapy.

Heidi Y. Ying, O.D.
Offering personalized eye care that helps you see what you've been missing.
Dr. Ying has enjoyed practicing in the Southern Tier since 2000 and joined Vestal Eye Care Associates in the winter of 2004. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo and the SUNY State College of Optometry. Dr. Ying is certified to treat ocular disease to the fullest extent allowed by optometrists in New York State. She takes a special interest in pediatric vision care.
Her special interests include: Pediatrics and Computer Vision.
Our Optical Staff
John C. McPherson, F.N.A.O.
FELLOW OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF OPTICIANRY
Mr. McPherson is a graduate of Erie Community College. He is a New York State Licensed Optician and has been practicing with Vestal Eye Care since 1987. He is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry and a member of the New York State Society of Opticians, Southern Tier Chapter.
Karen E. Opeka
Ms. Opeka has been involved in the optical industry for over 15 years. She is a NYS Licensed Optican who previously worked at Vestal Eye Care Associates from 1992 to 1997.
Mrs. Opeka is a life long resident of the area residing in Johnson City with her husband Bob and their two children, Courtney and Maddison.
Thomas J. Holmes
Mr. Holmes has been involved in the optical industry since 1986 and joined Vestal Eye Care in July, 2004. He is a New York Licensed Optician and is a member of the New York State Society of Opticians, Southern Tier Chapter.
Mr. Holmes resides in Binghamton with his wife, Rhonda and their two children, Ryan and Cooper.
Our Staff
Sam Rosato, Business Manager
Mr. Rosato is a graduate of Syracuse University. He has many years of experience in various management capacities at IBM and Lockheed Martin Corp.
Mr. Rosato has been an active member of the Vestal community since locating to the area in 1970. He is an active member of the United Way of Broome County and served on their Board of Directors from 2000-2007.
Office Staff
Our office staff is knowledgeable in the many facets of the services and materials we provide. Jessica Anne, Susan, Sam, Jessica, Karen and Cheryl are here to help you.
Technical Staff
Toni, Belynda, Sandra, Helen, Jessi and Lois are responsible for assisting the doctors in patient care. Combined, they have over 50 years experience in the medical field. The combination of their diligent care and our cutting edge technology provides the basis upon which our doctors diagnose and treat eye conditions.
